12/2/2023 0 Comments Best wifi router for att fiberIt has the best range on the list and supports multi-gig internet too. Plus, we love the Wi-Fi configuration, which can help alleviate local network congestion. ![]() What we like about it: The RAX200 is fast, no doubt about it-it’s the fastest Wi-Fi 6 router we’ve tested to date up close and at long range. Provides a better experience in the app than the web interface. Has one of the fastest setups we’ve endured. Includes a third band and multi-gig internet support. Requires subscriptions to use the parental controls and security fully. Outpaces all gaming and non-gaming routers we’ve tested to date. Sure, it could use a few extra features to pack a punch, but you can’t beat what you get here for the sub-$100 cost. Why do we recommend it? There’s a lot to love with the Archer AX20: USB connectivity, VPN tools, and good speeds at a long range. That would eliminate any Wi-Fi conflicts between your printer and the router. What we wish it did better: Printer sharing would be a nice touch since we have a USB port on hand. We tested decent Wi-Fi 6 speeds at close range and long range, which was a nice surprise. What we like about it: You can’t expect a lot from a sub-$100 router, but there’s plenty of bang for your buck here, like USB connectivity and VPN tools. Includes a decent web interface, but the Tether app is better. Needs a faster, more streamlined process. Includes VPN tools and basic parental controls. Provides decent speeds even at a long range. Max internet speed supported: ~2,370Mbps.* Speeds in megabits per second (Mbps) using a Wi-Fi 6 client and an 80 MHz channel. Tested speeds at a glance 5 GHz max speed It’s ideal for households with lots of devices-if you can tolerate the price. You get free antivirus, decent parental controls, multigig internet support, and VPN tools to keep you safe online. Why do we recommend it? The GT-AX11000 is a great router for gamers or really anyone. ![]() No matter how hard we screwed the antennas into place, some of them kept falling over time. What we wish it did better: We found the antennas… problematic-at least on the model we tested. It even has free antivirus, free parental controls, built-in VPN components-there’s just so much here to love that it makes this ASUS router our pick as the best option for most home networks. The three bands and 12 streams help alleviate congestion and slowdowns. What we like about it: Its tested Wi-Fi speeds are excellent, even at 120 feet. Provides a better experience in the web interface than the mobile app. Requires more time to set up all the extra features you normally don’t get on a standard router. Supports 6 wireless devices at full speed 12 at half speed. Includes free antivirus, parental controls, and a built-in VPN server and client. Speeds along as one of the fastest routers tested but falls just short of the RAX200.

12/2/2023 0 Comments Big amethyst rock![]() Some mines of San Bernardino County where turquoise is found include the Apache Canyon mines (which are the only ones producing turquoise on a commercial level), the Baker mine and the Gove mine. The Turquoise Mountains situated close to the Silurian Hills has been the source of the gemstone for many years, but is now found only in limited quantities. The turquoise in California is generally of lower grade quality. The crystal found here was rather thick and very dark green in color. Tourmaline samples have also been found in the Clark Mine situated in the Rincon Mountain of the San Diego County.Īnother site in the San Diego County where tourmaline has been found is at the Little Three Mines located close to Ramona. The Himalaya Tourmaline Mine situated at Lake Henshaw falls in the Mesa Grande of San Diego County and offers a variety of valuable tourmaline in colors such as green pink and black. A few years ago a large deposit of tourmaline in numerous varieties was discovered at the site. The Oceanview Mine located in the Pala district is an old mine and still remains active. Some good quality of the crystals has been found here in pink and blue colors. Although the mine is not a very active producer of the gemstone at the present times, it is still known to have some tourmaline bearing pockets. The Tourmaline Queen Mine which is a part of the Pala Mine in the Pala District of San Diego has been known as one of the largest producers of the tourmaline gemstone. San Diego County in the southern part of California has a few known mines which are still active and where tourmaline deposits can be found in various colors. The site where jade can be found at Willow Creek is towards the northern end of the beach. The creek is located under the bridge which comes after crossing Jade Cove. This is located about a mile from Jade Cove Beach. Willow Creek is another spot to look for jade. It is very steep and prone to rock fall, therefore one must be careful while exploring this area. This site is said to have an extensive amount of jade, but the trail to the Gem Cove has no signs or directions that lead towards the site. The Gem Cove Beach which is also known as the North Jade Cove Beach is located just a few miles to the south of the Sand Dollar Beach. Finding jade here could be a challenging task as the stone is limited. The Sand Dollar Beach is located about 9 miles from Lucia that lies in Monterey County of California close to the National Park of Los Padres. However the quality of the jade found here is not of particularly high quality. Some of the areas where one can look for jade are Willow Creek, Gem Cove, San Simeon, Jade Cove and Sand Dollar Beach. This higher acidity is the consequence of the intramolecular hydrogen bonding between the α-hydroxyl and the carboxylate group. Compared to acetic acid, its pKa is 1 unit less, meaning lactic acid deprotonates ten times more easily than acetic acid does. In solution, it can ionize a proton from the carboxyl group, producing the lactate ion CH3CH-OH-CO−2. In the form of its conjugate base called lactate, it plays a role in several biochemical processes. With a hydroxyl group adjacent to the carboxyl group, lactic acid is classified as an alpha-hydroxy acid -AHA. It is produced both naturally and synthetically. In its solid state, it is white and water-soluble. Lactic acid: Lactic acid is an organic compound with the formula CH3CH-OH-COOH. Being highly conjugated, it is deeply colored, and as a hydrocarbon lacking functional groups, it is very lipophilic. β-Carotene is a non-polar compound, so it is separated with a non-polar solvent such as hexane. The separation of β-carotene from the mixture of other carotenoids is based on the polarity of a compound. It can also be extracted from the beta-carotene rich algae, Dunaliella salina. In nature, β-carotene is a precursor -inactive form- to vitamin A via the action of beta-carotene 15‚15'-monooxygenase.Isolation of β-carotene from fruits abundant in carotenoids is commonly done using column chromatography. The structure was deduced by Karrer et al. When used as a food coloring, it has the E number E160a. β-Carotene is biosynthesized from geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate.β-Carotene is the most common form of carotene in plants. Among the carotenes, β-carotene is distinguished by having beta-rings at both ends of the molecule. It is a member of the carotenes, which are terpenoids -isoprenoids-, synthesized biochemically from eight isoprene units and thus having 40 carbons. Pure carnivores such as ferrets lack β-carotene 15‚15'-monooxygenase and cannot convert any carotenoids to retinals at all -resulting in carotenes not being a form of vitamin A for this species- while cats can convert a trace of β-carotene to retinol, although the amount is totally insufficient for meeting their daily retinol needs.īeta-Carotene: β-Carotene is an organic, strongly colored red-orange pigment abundant in plants and fruits. Carnivores in general are poor converters of dietary ionone-containing carotenoids. Animal species differ greatly in their ability to convert retinyl -beta-ionone- containing carotenoids to retinals. ![]() All other carotenoids, including lycopene, have no beta-ring and thus no vitamin A activity -although they may have antioxidant activity and thus biological activity in other ways. The carotenes α-carotene and γ-carotene, due to their single retinyl group -β-ionone ring-, also have some vitamin A activity -though less than β-carotene-, as does the xanthophyll carotenoid β-cryptoxanthin. β-Carotene can be stored in the liver and body fat and converted to retinal as needed, thus making it a form of vitamin A for humans and some other mammals. β-Carotene is composed of two retinyl groups, and is broken down in the mucosa of the human small intestine by β-carotene 15‚15'-monooxygenase to retinal, a form of vitamin A. They also protect plant tissues by helping to absorb the energy from singlet oxygen, an excited form of the oxygen molecule O2 which is formed during photosynthesis. Carotenes contribute to photosynthesis by transmitting the light energy they absorb to chlorophyll. ![]() The typical yellow-coloured fat of humans and chickens is a result of fat storage of carotenes from their diets. Omnivorous animal species which are relatively poor converters of coloured dietary carotenoids to colourless retinoids have yellowed-coloured body fat, as a result of the carotenoid retention from the vegetable portion of their diet. ![]() They also -in lower concentrations- impart the yellow coloration to milk-fat and butter. Carotenes are also responsible for the orange -but not all of the yellow- colours in dry foliage. Carotenes are responsible for the orange colour of the carrot, for which this class of chemicals is named, and for the colours of many other fruits, vegetables and fungi -for example, sweet potatoes, chanterelle and orange cantaloupe melon. They absorb ultraviolet, violet, and blue light and scatter orange or red light, and -in low concentrations- yellow light. Carotenes are photosynthetic pigments important for photosynthesis. Carotene: The term carotene -also carotin, from the Latin carota, "carrot"- is used for many related unsaturated hydrocarbon substances having the formula C40Hx, which are synthesized by plants but in general cannot be made by animals -with the exception of some aphids and spider mites which acquired the synthesizing genes from fungi. ![]() Participate in the refinement and development of user stories, assessing the impact of new development on current database implementation.Assist software developers in implementing appropriate data access permission schemas.Expose data to application in various business tiers. ![]() Develop and implement all database indexing, maintenance, back-up, transformations, and stored procedures.Develop, deploy, and maintain Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) scripts and schedules.Provide development and administration support for various databases, primarily SQL server databases, in a client-server development environment including stored procedures and triggers, SQL, and index performance tuning, and database design and file storage.Together, in combination with these hard technical skills, these architects use soft skills to develop a better understanding of the needs and pain points of their clients to develop the perfect software solution needed. 12/1/2023 0 Comments Tim donnelly chips19–21 Analyzing the human microbiome has been conducted by sequencing fecal samples, but these are not representative of the entire gut microbial population, as many bacteria live in hardly accessible zones in the form of surface-attached communities, termed biofilms, inside the intestine. 18 Among various methods, direct experimentation on human subjects has been proven to be difficult due to the inaccessibility of the GI tract, and imaging techniques such as colonoscopy have been invasive and lacked cellular-level resolution. The eminent role of the gut in health and diseases has aroused tremendous interest among the scientific community in deciphering the gut's physiological complexities over the past decades however, one of the major stumbling blocks in these attempts has been the limitations of conventional experimental techniques. 8,9 The disruption of the gut barrier has been linked to various diseases, including gastrointestinal (GI) diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colorectal cancer, 10,11 in addition to non-GI diseases as versatile as cancer, diabetes, obesity, asthma, cardiovascular diseases, and respiratory infections such as COVID-19. 7 A notable example of such roles is microbial and epithelial barrier functions, which are essential for maintaining homeostasis, establishing a bidirectional relationship with immune cells, and protecting the body against pathogenic attacks. 6 In addition to food digestion, the gut and its microbiome have broad roles in health regulation and disease prevention. 2 Being equipped with special enzymatic capacity, intestinal enterocytes are able to digest a variety of compounds such as amino acids, peptides, polysaccharides, and xenobiotics, 3–5 and benefiting from a unique metabolic diversity, the microbiome maximizes the digestion by breaking down complex carbohydrates and vitamins. 1 The most well-known function of the gut is the digestion of food and absorption of nutrients. The human gut is one of the critical organs with important biological functions orchestrated by human intestinal cells and a rich microbial consortium, known as the gut microbiome. We then elaborate on different approaches that have been adopted to model key physiochemical stimuli and explore how these models have been beneficial to understanding gut pathophysiology and testing therapeutic interventions. In this review, we outline various gut-on-a-chip designs, particularly focusing on different configurations used to coculture the microbiome and various human intestinal cells. Accordingly, the excellent organ mimicry offered by gut-on-a-chips has fueled numerous investigations on the clinical and industrial applications of these devices in recent years. A myriad of studies has demonstrated that gut-on-a-chip models reinforce a prolonged coculture of microbiota and human cells with genotypic and phenotypic responses that closely mimic the in vivo data. This research has led to innovative approaches to model fluid flow, mechanical forces, and oxygen gradients, which are all important developmental cues of the gut physiological system. Among these attempts, an important research front has focused on simulating the physiology of the gut, an organ with a distinct cellular composition featuring a plethora of microbial and human cells that mutually mediate critical body functions.
